Live Art Installations is created in collaboration with dancers, installation artists, engineers and musicians from around the world.

Here some key artists involved in current productions :

PIPALUK SUPERNOVA

Pipaluk 1Choreographer and artistic director, Pipaluk created in collaboration with Thomas Jorgensen and a group of international artists the art projects ‘Half machine’ and other ‘Live Art Installations’ events where dancers, installations artists, scientists, engineers, programmers and musicians collaborate in large scale audience interactive installations on land and on water. THOMAS JØRGENSEN

ThomasInstallation artist, light designer, specializes in large scale interactive installation works applying pyrotechnics, water and recycled materials. Thomas is a professional electrician, he also builds scenography, light sculptures and designs for interior and exterior spaces. More about Thomas work at this site.

ANDREAS BENNETZEN

Composer and musician, classical soloist on double bass, co creator of sound environments and original compositions for Half Machine and Live Art Installations, and is arranging and writing music for many artists. Has recently released the solo album “Flowing in Circles” under his alias Andy Benz with 9 original compositions for electronic double bass and live looping techniques. More about Andreas.

KARL GILLICK

Karl GillickAerial dancer and artist out of San Francisco, co founder of Half Machine, a key player in creating the huge interactive installations with dancers and objects suspended from the ceiling. Karl is a professional rigger and a daring performance and installation artist.

FRANK WILLENS

Dancer, performer, artist, actor, Frank is a core creator in establishing the interactive spaces where both the audience and the artists feel at home, and part of Half Machine since 03. Our projects at times include several hundred artists and audience members, and Frank fully embraces the challenge. He is a strong and courageous performer, combining incredible dance skills with humour and presence.

PETER MADSEN

Peter MadsenSubmarine captain and rocket engineer. Peter builds his own submarines, so far 3, the latest one “Nautilus” being the largest amateur built sub in the world. With Kristian von Bengtson he has started Denmarks first manned space program, where he is currently conducting test experiments with his rocket engines. He plans to send himself out into suborbital space in the near future.

JAROSLAVA COLAJACOMO / YARO

Videographer – directing, camera, editing – focus on creating live essence documentation at artistic, installation or multimedia events. She documented Half Machine and Live Art Installations since 2006. She is the founder of Playapart, a non profit organization dedicated to video and film production that aims to rise social and
environmental activism into the artistic and information sectors. She also performs as VJ at music and cultural events. www.playapart.it

LINDA PRIHA

Dancer, performer, collaborator out of Helsinki. Linda is a crazy performer and a devoted worker always interested in learning new things (like climbing on the wall of a craft or setting lights in horrible rain..). She loves challenges and she loves to work with people. Linda wants to dance fully, sing fully, love fully and live fully. Linda graduated as a master of arts from the Helsinki Theatre Academy in 2008.

ALLISON LORENZEN

Dancer and musician, she also served organizationally as the darling secretary. Her dance duo New Extreme Dance Explosions Awesomes (with Rebecca Patek) brought her theatrical dance work work to many venues throughout Philadelphia and New York, such as Judson Church movement research and the Joyce SoHo. Allison holds a B.A. in Dance, with a minor in Management, and is a certified Yoga instructor. Allison composes and sings in her band hey Novella and is into bold, beautiful, mystical, and mythological.

DASHA LAVRENNIKOW

Dancer, born in Moscow and lived in the United States where she danced with the Boston ballet and trained in release technique, Graham, Cunningham, Limón, contact improvisation, as well composition and choreography. She also organizes dance initiatives around the world, and studies flamenco intensively. Currently she is taking her International Masters in Performing Arts from the Universities of Nice and Copenhagen.

DAN BEAR DAVIS

Dancer, also works in the field of text, mix soundscapes and video, design lights and costumes. His work is image and content based and context specific, engaging in a number of collaborative performances. Dan loves high dynamic physicality and working on strange physical structures and apparatuses and teaches contact improvisation and improvisational composition internationally. more about Dan‘s work.

CHRISTIAN LILJEDAHL

Christian LiljedahlInstallation artist working in audience interactive art installations, often using himself as target for various experiments testing the audience level of both cruelty and compassion. Christian is currently experimenting with mobile underwater and fire devices. More about Christian.

MATHIAS VEJERSLEV

mathiasPhotographer, with an extraordinary gift for capturing the fleeting moments of dance, light, movement. Mathias photographs Live Art Installations and works as a graphic designer for websites, album art work, books and more. See Mathias’ work on this site and his Flickr.
